Dried lavender is strong. I’m not sure how “regular” lavender would be. I personally love lavender and it can’t be too potent in my opinion.

I just ordered dried lavender bunches because we’re using two sprigs of it on each napkin at each place setting and boy it’s fragrant! It smells so good! But I love lavender. I’m not sure how having it as a bouquet would be for someone who doesn’t care for lavender or strongly scented things. That’s why we went with using it in very small amounts.

We used dried lavender and rose petals as confetti for our exit from the church. Looked pretty, smelled amazing, almost killed my Darling Husband when he swallowed some!!

We are doing dried lavender for the toss, it helps with bugs and the wedding is outside, but the smell is very strong! I love the look of lavender bouquets but agree that the smell may be overwhelming. I know sometimes lavender can loose strength over time but I do not know how true that is.

I love lavender (the colour, how it looks and the smell) and did include it in the list of flowers I liked that my florist asked for, as it was a perfect match for our colour scheme. She did say, however, that it can be quite overwhelming for some people, particularly those with allergies, so she generally recommends not to use it (or not to use it in large amounts). Darling Husband also gets bad hayfever at times and said that he probably wouldn’t be able to deal with lavender in close proximity.

When my florist was at the market, she came across some lavender and decided it wasn’t as fragrant as normal so she grabbed some and used in (sparingly) in our centrepiece arrangements, so I still got some lavender in the end lol.
