I have a Kitchen Aid Pasta Maker, so I make my pasta from scratch more often than not (it takes 30 minutes to make the dough, roll it, cut it, boil it, and serve and I hate the grocery store). Otherwise I use “Homemade Noodle” brand pasta I found.
I… also make my sauce from scratch

Mmmm. Pasta. The reason I could never go on a low carb diet.
The shape depends on the dish. Fettucine or maybe bowtie for alfredo sauce (my favorite!). Rotini is great in a dish like broccoli and cheese. But I like to simply add butter (or olive oil) and garlic salt, maybe a sprinkle of parmesean and eat it like that if I’m feeling lazy- and I’ll do this with whatever shape of pasta I have on hand (if I’m being lazy I’m not gonna be to picky! Lol!). And I don’t really have a favorite brand.

This may be a silly question but I’ve always wanted to try the different colored pasta, since I’ve heard it’s supposed to be slightly healthier, but I’ve always been slightly leery of it. Is there much of a taste difference from regular pasta? A texture difference? Thanks!

Pasta is my favorite food! I usually have pasta for either lunch or dinner….or both. I’m hopeless! Love it all! I’d like to learn how to make my own sauces someday too.

Angel hair is my favorite type of pasta. I like fettucine alfredo, and spaghetti with sauce and parmesan cheese. I really don’t like pasta with just plain sauce, but I happen to love vodka sauce so I prefer that over regular marinara. My favorite recipe is sauteeing onions and garlic together and putting it over the pasta with a good sauce and parmesan cheese. I like Hunts sauce since I don’t like tomato chunks in my sauce.

Ok ladies.. so I’m going to the supermarket today to get wraps for the leftover chicken we had last night…and want to make a sauce for pasta on Thursday…
I have a can of Tuttoroso (not sure I spelled that right and am too lazy to google it at the moment), and I want to make sure it doesn’t taste too sweet…
Anybody use that can of tomatoes have recommendations on what to add to it?

I *love* spiral pasta, it’s just so fun! And also spaghetti noodles.
Generally, I go pretty simple with mine – diced tomatoes (fresh from the garden during the summer months!), olive oil, fresh ground pepper and feta cheese. Sometimes I’ll use a sauce (prefer tomato basil), but usually just olive oil.

I use Barilla and usually buy Penne. I love my pasta Al Dente. I use my Mom’s homemade sauce recipe if I am making sauce. We also like Cavatelli. Another brand of pasta we buy is Ontario Ravioli.
A few times since we have been together. DH and I have made homemade gnocchi with my Grandma’s recipe. Such a fun experience and tastes delicious.
