I’m oily and also use hourglass mineral veil primer. It’s fantastic. setting my foundation w translucent powder also works wonders.

@PeachSnapple:  ohhh fun! i WAS using smashbox photo finish. it was OK. i really liked how smooth it felt on my face but as far as staying power…not so much. I get pretty oily in my t zone. i was looking for a new primer and realized i had hourglass sitting in my makeup collection and completely forgot i bought it! its my HG! love love love hourglass!

I second Murad matte primer! It’s wonderful! For reference, I have combination skin with an oily t-zone.

@drlolaz:  Yeah, that’s where I intially found it.  But the Target in the city where I just moved to doesn’t carry it for some reason – not even an empty spot for it like it had been sold out.  And I feel silly paying shipping for something that’s only $6 to buy it online.  I will keep looking.  🙂

Malox.  No joke.  It’s the perfect primer.  Google it.

@PeachSnapple:  So I tried the new Maybelline Baby Skin primer – I like it SO MUCH MORE than Monistat!  It’s a silica based primer, so it does the exact same thing as Monistat, Smashbox, and other silica based gels.  It was like $7 at Target.

I avoid smashbox like the plague…for some reason I have had bad reactions to all of their products that I have tried…that is just my experiance though.  I currently use the Benefit Porfesional and use an UD setting spray on top on my makeup.  I would 10 hour days and by the time I get home my makeup looks just as good as when I put it on.

I have used this method with drugstore foundations and with my highend ones, and they both worked wonderfully.  I started using my drugstore one more often because of how great this has worked for me.
