only like romaine letter (no iceberg none of those weird funky lettuces) I like to put tomatoes and celery on it with some balsamic vinigerette..not very fancy but I love it and eat it twice a day 🙂

Chickpeas and hard boiled egg are my favorite toppings. And onions!

My favorite would be mixed greens or spinach with cubes of cheddar, tomatoes, yellow bell pepper, and carrots with french dressing, possibly some green onions if they were mild/I’m not out in public (I often pack salads for lunch). Other toppings I use regularly are feta and goat cheese, cucumbers, crasins, and mandarin oranges.

Salads are so good with pomegranite seeds!

My current fave is a thai salad with shredded cabbage, broccoli, red bell pepper, shredded carrots, and whatever else you have on hand.  For dressing, melt down some peanut butter and mix with some salsa to make a pad thai type taste.  Pour over the salad and toss.  It’s so delicious and even better the next day!

I like any lettuce salad with ranch, but after seeing how fattening ranch is I like doing basil, mozerella, tomato and some balsamic vinegarette drizzled over. It mostly consists of tomatos rather than lettuce but I still consider it a salad.

If you like feta I suggest a Greek salad with olive oil, feta, cucumbers, kalamta olives, tomatos, and onions.

I love most types of salads! Greek salads are usually my go-to favorite. I also like Spinach salads with strawberries, goat cheese, and strawberry vinaigrette. Iceberg salad wedges with blue cheese are great. Same with salads that have eggs, sunflower seeds, and with mustard dressing.

I am making a shredded cabbage and chicken salad with orange soy ginger dressing later tonight.  I love salads with lots of things in them.  I do not like the typical side salad, though. Flavorless vegetables are disgusting.

My favorite salad in the world is from Tria Cafe in Philly:

arugula, goat cheese, beets, almonds, and red onion with an awesome vinaigrette.

Diced ham or turkey or chicken, mixed greens, carrots, tomatoes, croutons and season with garlic and lime (or lemon) juice.  Mix it all together and it nom-nom time.

Romaine (or iceberg) with cabbage and carrots, shredded mozzarella, and a local restaurant’s house dressing.

Every now and then I’ll get a chicken Caesar, and sometimes just a regular house salad minus basically everything (I keep the lettuce, tomatoes, and carrots) with Thousand Island dressing.

Oooh I like anything!  I love romaine, spinach, and/or mixed greens, Craisins, red cabbage, carrots, corn, sunflower seeds, chick peas, radishes, tomatoes, all types of fruit, croutons or tortillas, cheese…really just about anything

As far as dressings go I am a vinaigrette girl.  My FAVORITE being the Ginger Sesame from Nordstrom in their restaurants.

Seriously, they have the best dressings.  I used to work there and could almost drink the stuff (I know…I have a problem haha!) their Dijon Vinagrette and Cilantro Lime ones are fantastic too!

@Sweet.Sugar.Rose:  Caesar salad is my favorite… but I usually make a quick homemade dressing when I don’t have caesar.

3 parts olive oil to one part fresh squeezed lemon juice

1 clove minced garlic (fresh)

salt

pepper

mustard (optional, I use whatever I have on hand.. usually dijon)

herbs (optional)

pinch of sugar or a little bit of honey (optional – takes the edge off the lemon)

I love putting avocado in salad. I also love kalamata olives and capers!
