Below is my story…got it almost 10 months ago, on a whim after having coffee w/ a gf before she moved (well I’d wanted to do this for like 5 years, just hadnot until she said “Do you still want that tattoo?”)

So the story is I used the “Love, Mom” writing/signature from a letter my mom wrote when I was 14 (almost 20 yrs ago now). My mom passed away my senior year in college.

My tattoo is white on my inside left wrist (they tried to deter me from white saying it’d fade/yellow but I know people with em and it’s on my inside wrist. They were like “okay, but we don’t take responsibility if those things happen”).

The full letter reads:

“”To my “littlest” one –

I promise I won’t call you the baby anymore (14 years ago it was “the boys”, “the twins” & “the baby” that described our 5 wonderful kids)! Time has passed and you’re getting to be a young lady. I want you to know how much I love you, you are such a BEAUTIFUL girl with a figure to “die for”! You have such neat ideas and are interested in so many things.Your face lights up your whole being when you smile. People like you. You have so many good qualities. Everyone you babysit for says how FANTASTIC you are & you do such a good job. You have intelligence (besides being cute), you’ve done well in eighth grade, you’re a good artist; G-d has given you so many gifts. I am proud of you. Times have been rough in our family (my many illnesses since you were a baby, dad’s job loss, the changes his new job have caused). One thing is constant and that is LOVE – dad and I love one another very much and I love you and the other kids very much. We don’t say it often enough, so I’m doing it now. Whatever you decide to do in life..go for it you have our support!

Love, Your Mommy”

Daizy914:  I love that! What are you getting? I’m ready to get my first one and I think I’ve decided on an anklet made of flowers that I grow in my garden. Including forget me nots and that will represent the loss of my father last year. I have loads of ideas, though, so we’ll see if I stick with that one.

summerbride2016:  I love this! It’s such a sweet reminder. I lost my dad last year and had thought about something like this. Or even having my husband write “I love you”. He has great handwriting. Haha!

My (ex)fiance passed away five and half years ago overseas. I got the same tattoo as him on his arm on my ribs; “Vidi Veni Vici”

My best friend who passed away my senior year of highschool was a very talened muscian. So I got a bass clef and a treble clef in the shape of a heart on my lower torso to the side, with a peace sign in the center…friend was a huge hippie lol

I have a swirly dove with a heart on my back. I’d post a pic,  but its buried in my FB account. I’ve had it for 7 years nows and have yet to regret it. We had lost my nephew as a still born, my dog of 16 years had died all within 2 weeks of each other. Plus it was the 10th year since my grandfather passed.

I do plan on getting another one this summer, I’m thinking either my inside wrist, or below my collar bone. It’ll say “Be Still” from the song by the Fray. My aunt very unexpectedly passed away in July at the age of 51. It killed my family, but that song helps me think of her.

Buzzing bee

I have one from my dad who passed away when I was younger from cancer. And then I have a line from the lion king, which was what we used to watch, “he lives in you.”

My first and one of my favorite tattoos!

I had this one touched up once. The healing process isn’t terrible and it didn’t really take long to do it. But I only got the black done. It didn’t cost much either.

I also got one behind my ear. It’s just a little daisy, but it was the weirdest tatoo I’ve ever got. The artist hands were like all over my face and you could like hear the buzzing even more. It didn’t hurt just weird.

Good luck 🙂

summerbride2016:  I love this soo much!!!! It looks wonderful and the story behind it is so touching! I want to get a white ink tattoo on my wrist but it seems like every artist tries to deter you from it 🙁

This tattoo is in honor of my youngest brother. My brother had cerebral palsy and was wheelchair bound his entire life. He left us 3 years ago at the the age of 17. The tattoo symbolizes God reaching down and pulling my brother out of the wheelchair. It is so special for me. Sorry I know you were looking for small tattoos but I couldn’t help but share mine.

Daizy914:  I’m getting a memorial tattoo for my sister/best friend that died on December 23rd today!

She LOVED Nightmare before Christmas and was going to have elements of it in her wedding which was scheduled for this year 🙁 I’m getting a Jack & Sally Skellington cameo style, and having her 11 year old son write “it’s okay not to be okay” to go underneath it.

I feel bad for my tattoo artist because I anticipate I’ll be crying very emotional tears throughout our appointment today.  She’s used me to sleeping haha
