@Barbiestylez:  We are doing a small two tier cake, a 6 and an 9 inch tier.  Red velvet with choclate ganache, and chocolate buttercream as the filling with an orange zest buttercream frosting.  Cost was $225, including the cake stand.  Here is our inspiration pic, we will be omitting the burlap and using a very light pink ribbon with fresh flowers.

@oxstardust421xo:  That was the first pic I sent to my cake baker.  And when she told me how much it would cost……$400-500 for two tiers I about choked, and promptly changed my mind.  LOL!!  That is a beautiful cake though!  Please post pics of how it turns out, I would love to see it!

@fredericksondes:  That’s how my cupcakes are going to look! I love how cakes look but I can’t justify spending anywhere near $1,000 on dessert. No, sir, not me.

Our wedding cake was vanilla with buttercream. The groom’s cake was devil’s food with chocolate cream cheese. Together, they came out to just under $500.

We’re paying about $450 for a three-tiered cake which will feed 125 people.  FH and I chose a chocolate cake with cannoli cream filling and buttercream frosting.  It will have a swirl sort of pattern with ribbon along the bottom and a brooch centered in the middle tier.  I can’t wait to see the cake in a few weeks!

Something like this, but with plum colored ribbon and an initial cake topper.

No pics. We are doing cupcakes.  some are coffee flavored cupcakes with chocolate icing and caramel drizzle and a cocolate covered espresso bean on top.  Another is Almond white cupcake, blueberry filling with a blueberry icing. The other cupcakes are just yellow and chocolate with regular chocolate/vanilla icings.

Ours was a 3 tier that could serve 160 or so ( if I am remembering correctly). It had 3 different flavors– chocolate, vanilla and red velvet all with a buttercream frosting:

Total cost was $428 from Publix, and the cakestand was $20 off of Craigslist.

We originally wanted the cake design to be like this:

But once we found this porcelain custom made cake topper we knew we had to design the cupcakes around it. We have no idea what to do but this is for sure our cake topper because its focused on things we love, traveling, us being from 2 different countries and of course 2 chics getting hitched!!

ETA: I forgot the flavor is going to be Brazilian dulce de leite (dulce de leche) which is soooooooooooooooooooo good. We have received different prices for the cupcakes and cake pops but havent narrowed it down to figure out which one we are going to go with or maybe a combo of both!

Red velvet with cream cheese frosting. It worked out to be between $700-800 (not 100% sure the exact amount)
