@futuremrsk18: Thanks so much! I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. It was such a good price because we found our baker at a wedding expo and at the time she was still getting her name out there. The top teir is the Resse’s Peices Chocolate Peanut Butter….I can’t wait to devour it next year lol!

Yay Ohio brides! I’m an OSU Alum, but we live in Youngstown. Anyhoo lol I was initially getting quotes between $500-700 as well and had only budgeted around $350. You definitely do not need enough cake to feed everyone, especially if you are having a cookie table and/or an open bar. We are expecting around 220 guests and my baker suggested going with about 175 servings. Also, I told the baker my budget ahead of time and then she worked around that number. We decided to go with this cake, with a different colored ribbon and actually, my topper is the little doves on your second insiration pic. Those are beautiful cakes, btw!
So the cake will acually be a display cake with one real tier for us to cut into. The rest will all be sheet cakes in the back, which is genius because you can do a bunch of different flavors with whatever icing you want! We are doing lemon filled with lemon curd, caramel apple, pumpkin spice with creamcheese frosting, white almond, and orange dreamsicle with whipped cream frosting. YUM! The price will be just under $300 with delivery and set up!!! SO don’t be afraid to let your baker know how much you would like to spend. Happy planning!

Our cake was gifted to us, as DH’s co-worker (and family friend) made it for us. It was 3 tiers of her vanilla cake and ‘famous’ buttercream, filled with raspberry preserves and white chocolate morsels. She also sprinkled salt on the buttercream to give it a bit of texture, and play with taste buds… gotta love chefs, lol.

@Barbiestylez: Aw, thank you. It was nothing like I envisioned, really, but the taste definitely made up for it. I’m sad we finished our top tier for our anniversary… 😛

@desiree.0615: We had similar cakes!
We paid about $700, and it served 150 people. We had 3 different flavours, vanilla with strawberry creme, red velvet with creme, and chocolate with chocolate (this tasted like a brownie)

We are doing a small, 5″ cake and then approx. 220 mini cupcakes (2 per person). Our baker recommended choosing 5 flavors and they have 80 total. Cupcake heaven!
We think it will cost about $330. The tasting was awesome.

Our venue is actually making our cake for us, it’s going to be red velvet, 3 tier and will feed 100 people (we’re having about 70 at the wedding). It cost us $500.

We are doing a small 3-tier square cake that serves 100 and we are having 130 people at our wedding, but we are also have a dessert/fruit table. Our cake is 10x8x6 with french butter cream(no fondant its made the cost go up to $5 a serving), with a raspberry filling(extra .20 a serving). With total price it’s $300 including travel. We are using La Petite Pastry Shoppe in Clinton Township.
We are just having the cake with the extra tier not the little ones
