ok bees…i have already posted this thread, but i need more help so i can be certain of my final decision… question is hair up or down?!?! i know, i know, many of you probably are rolling their eyes, but this is a huge dilemma for me! my mother loves my hair up, i do too, but i think i rather have my hair down for a few reasons…i will be wearing a bolero for the ceremony, but then i will be taking it off for the reception, and honestly i have always been so insecure of my big pale and chubby arms and shoulders, so wearing my hair down it feels like to me that it covers them a little, also because it looks more like me, since im wearing it down pretty much all the time, and the whole look feels more soft and femminine.. wearing my hair up to me looks more regal, and im not really looking for that kind of feeling.. my mom and sister told me that with my hair up i look skinnier and my neck appears longer(really?), also my sister suggested to wear my hair up so l would look different on my special day…anyways, i would love to make my mother happy, but i feel like i might be happier with my hair down, but at the same time i dont want to look like an idiot with my hair down and lace bolero on because i think it would look too busy.. please i need your advices on this one, i need to know if my face looks skinnier or bigger with hair up/down and what you think of wearing hair down with a lace bolero….

I like it up, it looks more polished and elegant. Down looks pretty, but its not as stunning as the up do.
You should add a poll to this.

I love the up-do! Maybe you could wear the bolero with the up-do during the ceremony and take it off and let your hair down during the reception. You have gorgeous hair btw.

I just love the way your hair looks down in all those curls, I vote for down! I think you will look beautiful either way, and I am always a proponent of going with what will make you feel comfortable!

I like the up-do on you! I think it looks great on you! What about going with a side pony tail with curls? That way it’s still technically up but it covers one side of your body? Both look awesome though, so whatever you decide I’m sure you will be beautiful!

I like it down best. You mentioned you usually wear your hair down but your family said you should try to go for a different look for your wedding day. My thought is that you should go with what you think makes you look your best, regardless if it’s similar to how you usually wear you hair (obviously there’s a reason you wear your hair down most of the time, you must like the way it looks on you!).
Anyway, I can tell you want to wear it down…so do it! You will regret it if you listen to your family…you are the one wearing the hairstyle!

hmaxwell- i wish i could do that..i invited my hair stylist to the wedding but she can not come, otherwise that was my plan..
Roux- thats my problem..i dont want to look too much! my dress has way to many details and wearing my hair up i feel like i will be feeling too uncomfortable..and again i feel uncomfortable having my shoulders and back naked…unfortunately the bolero is too annoying and i cant wear it the whole day, otherwise i would have had my hair up with the bolero on…

I love them both, but I really agree with you about the femininity of the down look.

I love the hair down look! I say that you should look similar to how you look normally. I always wear my hair down so I had a down do for the wedding.

I voted for the up-do because it shows off your nice neck, like your family said. And the front pieces still keep the look nice and soft. The down is great too, and I love the look of long hair with a strapless dress for when you take off the bolero. But overall I like the updo best.

I like it down, but I might be biased because I’m not really a fan of big updos in general.

I am normally a huge fan of updos (and I am going to be wearing my hair up for my wedding…. but I also wear it up most days), but your hair is too gorgeous not to show off! Jealous!

Your hair is soooooo gorgeous! I love it!! Does your fiance have an opinion at all? My husband has always been all “I love your hair DOWN” so I knew for the wedding, I would wear it down, just because I knew that was more likely to get him breathless when he saw me for the first time. If your soon-to-be hubby has an opinion, I’d go with whatever he wants. Otherwise go with what YOU want.
Is your reception inside/outside? Keep in mind that your hair down means your hair will be on your neck all night. Are you likely to get hot dancing and stuff? Or will you be outside in the summer? You may want it up just to help keep you cool! Plus if you are going to be outside at all – will your hair be affected by any potential humidity? I know mine would go from curls to major frizz if it’s humid out – so having your hair up may prevent that problem.
Whichever you decide, your hair is GORGEOUS and will look great on your wedding day!

@noscare! thank you! <3 thats what my bf told me! leave it down cause you have beautiful hair! haha
@Adira…. he doesnt really care! he like my hair all the times lol he said that he loves when i change my hair all the time… that means straight, curled up, in a ponytail, or clipped in the back.. i usually wear it down and straight, weather permitt, when it is hot and humid i curled it up and make sure i spray tons of hair spray! lol our reception is inside so we wont be too long outside..just for pictures and if it will rain (i hope not) we will be takingpics inside! my hair is naturally curly so the curls keep up pretty well, yeah it might frizz but the hairstyle guranteed me that my hair will hold in a tornado! lol im not planning to go crazy the whole night..maybe dance a little and then go around to say hi and stuff… so it shouldnt be a problem…what is torture me if my hair half down lools like a bride or not, and if i wont look too busy once i will be wearing bolero and veil….

<—rolls eyes. hey! do what YOU want. Any amount of feedback isn’t going to make a big difference. You are going to look GREAT! Be confident, cause you have what it takes to pull it off. Your hair looks great both ways.
