I can sort of see letting someone try it on, but only for a second. I wouldn’t let any of my friends wear mine for anything longer.

How would they put it on their finger if it’s on your finger?  I’ve never had anyone try on my ring or even ask to.  I personally wouldn’t be ok with that.

No one has ever asked to wear my ring but I don’t think I’d be ok with it.  I’m not superstitious and not sure if its taboo, but it would just be incredibly awkward to me.

No one has ever asked to wear my rings and if they did the answer would be no.

Nope. No one has ever asked to wear my ring but if they did I would say I don’t take my ring off.

My fiancé’s good friend’s wife came to visit us and while she was here, asked to try my ring on and I let her.

Another time, my fiancé and I were out for drinks and an older woman started talking to us, noticed my ring, and asked me, unprovoked, if I wanted to try on her wedding band with my ring. (She did not ask to try my ring on, she just wanted to see if I wanted to try her band.)

I would be very careful with who I let try on my ring, and I would definitely never let them leave my sight with it on, even a dear friend.

Um, I don’t understand how this is happening to you?

Are these women grabbing your hand and forcibly stealing the ring off your finger? Complain to HR.

Are they asking to wear it? Just say “no”.

Trying it on? No big deal.  Wearing it for 10-30 minutes?  That’s odd to me.

A really close friend who wanted to try it on for a minute? Sure. A coworker who wanted to wear it for a while? Why? Seriously. Why would you agree to that?

Half an hour?? What if they go to the bathroom and drop it down the sink? Do you follow them around while they’re wearing it? This is super weird to me.

If it doesn’t bother you, I don’t see why its a problem. It’s not magical. Your ring being on someone else’s finger for a period of time isn’t going to put a curse on it. If you’re worried about them losing or damaging it, that is a concern, but I can’t see why a taboo would be a problem.
