I have a very Korean name, and I was told pick a “normal” name to go by in elementary school. I chose Hailey.

If I had to choose now, I really like Seo-Yun. I’ll probably actually name my daughter that.

I love the sound of names which start with a V. Like Vanessa or Victoria. I also always liked the name Daphne.

I really do like my given name though and wouldn’t change it.

If I could, I’d go with Olive. I’ve always liked that name. Saving it for a daughter. Will definitely use Olliver if I ever have a boy.

I always liked Clarissa, but I have a slight lisp, so probably not a good choice!

My first name is Helen, which I always hated when I was younger because it sounded like such an old lady name. I actually quite like it now, I don’t know many people my age with the same name, and it’s easy to spell and pronounce.

My faux name was Anastacia but Ana for short. Lol.

My name is hard to pronounce, hard to spell, and unusual so it’s easier to make up a fake name. Now I like it for a child but is it weird if I used to use it? Lol.

Also love friends here!!

Hate my name. Plain jane name with several spellings (and of course mine is one of the rarer ones). No one ever spells it right.

I’d choose something exotic and pretty that had one common spelling like Valentina, Athena, or Juniper

I’d probably go with Blake. It’s not even one of my favorite names, but I just feel like it would suit me better than my real name lol.

I am actually contemplating to change my name. I have two given names and two last names. That’s too much for the american authorities… they go error tilt. My first given name is unpronounceable for English speakers and they Americanize it shamelessly. I hate that. But on the other hand nobody – not even my mother – calls me by that name anyhow. So I am thinking of changingit to my nickname but it makes me nervous. After all I’ve had my name for 36 years. It’s on all my degrees and on our marriage license and our Ketubah. I can’t decide weather I should just do it or not. Where I am from I just have to sent in a one page form and pay about 25$ and then within 4-6 weeks I get a paper stating the name change. I would just be Mia. 3 letters, easy to spell. My family is all for it but my husband says that it is not my name and it would be weird…. I have about another 6 month to decide. That’s when I will need a new passport.

I never really liked my real name and I always had one or the other nickname. I dreamed of all kinds of different names. Rachel was one of them. Now it would be Leilani.

In my early twenties when I was going through my groupie phase I went by Rosie to musicians. As in Whole Lotta Rosie.

Saphina – my great-grandmother’s name! She was a Persian refuge, but we didn’t know this until we did a lot of geneological research (she told her children she was from Quebec).
