My wonderful lady and I are planning on getting married this upcoming October.  We are actually getting married on our 11 year anniversary.  We are going to have a civil ceremony with only close family members and friends in our hometown.  <3

I am not in a same sex relationship currently but I am a bisexual female. Just wanted to say hello and congrats!

My fiance and I are lucky to be in the first state to legalize same sex marriage!  We’ve been together for coming up on 7yrs and our wedding is this September.  I’m doing the bulk of the wedding planning and look like the more typical bride.  I’ve had a staggering number of vendors at expos ask about my groom and when I gently correct them, they basically shut down on me and seem incapable of carrying a conversation.  On the bright side, I’ve found some truly amazing people to work with because of that. I’ve decided that I really only want to work with people who are thrilled to be a part of our day.

I’ll have the long, fancy dress (champagne color) and 2 bridesmaids, she will have a suit (probably grey) and 3 “groomsmen”.  We still have to find her suit or have one made.  We had major trouble finding someone to do makeup that would charge a reduced fee for her since she just wants the equivalent of what guys would wear for makeup on TV or something.  Fortunately, we found someone who offers a “grooming” service for far less.

We don’t have colors for our wedding.  We’re just sticking with natural, rustic, but classy for a theme.  Lots of fresh flowers from my gardens, natural wood, and maybe some burlap and lace.  Both the reception and ceremony will be outside at a converted farmhouse and we’ll have a tent for the reception.

My Fiance and I will be getting married in September. We’re a one dress, one suit wedding too. The time is coming so quickly, but we are crazy excited. We’re having a shout ceremony followed by an awesome party. We can’t wait to share the day with our friends and family who have supported us!

avlwedding:  Hello all and congrats to everyone here – very excited to see all these lovely people finding happiness and love!!   I am marrying my best friend this June!!! We have been together for 8 years this June – sadly we reside in Texas and have decided to have our wedding in Santa Fe, NM.  Not only because it is legal but because it’s a beautiful city and venue. And we wanted a weekend getaway wedding for our closest family & friends.

daniellenew:  Our stories are similar ๐Ÿ™‚

<br />I have a fancy dress, she has a suit AND when one MUA quoted me $250 for minimal makeup for her I almost died laughing. No freaking way, lady. I finally found someone who is doing it for a bargain- but I’m paying the regular amount. The grooming fee is much more in line with what she needs anyway.

We are getting married May 8. It’s right around the corner and we are pretty prepared. Almost all of our stuff is paid off and we are going to have the best time. I can’t wait!

My fiancée and I are getting married January 30, 2016 and we couldn’t be happier! We are also a one dress, one suit wedding! It’s been an interesting experience planning a same-sex wedding. All the questions and people trying to make our wedding fit into “traditions” but overall we are enjoying the process and so excited to be married!

So! A questions for all you lovely people.. What do you and your significant other planned to be “pronounced” at the end of the ceremony? We are struggling with this.

klmeyer:  We’re being pronounced wife and wife ๐Ÿ™‚ We went back and forth for a while, but in the end I kind of love that it sounds a bit jarring and unexpected tbh.

Other options we considered: wives, partners for life, spouses for life, married under the laws of xyz, etc.

Hello everyone! My husband and I have been together for 6 years and had a civil union at the court house in 2011, when that became legal in my state, IL.  He is FTM and We have a 16 month old together. We have decided to get married and I’m excited to say the least! I never thought it possible that I would actually have one! I already have a dress in mind lol and I know that I want a romantic winter wedding.

My fiancee and I are planning on getting married this summer. We’re really hoping the SCOTUS makes a sweeping ruling and it will be legal in our state. If that happens, we’re planning to go to the courthouse on the first day in our dresses. If that doesn’t, we’ll see what we decide to do. We may travel out of state with a small group of loved ones or we may wait and do something larger here. At this point we’re just ready to be MARRIED.

My girlfriend and I just got enganged a few months ago. ๐Ÿ™‚ We’ve been together for over two years (but been best friends for longer).

We were already living together and finally decided we should just get married, because we were pretty much “married” anyway. It was like the most low key proposal ever. We were arging over who would have to propose if we ever decided to get married, and I got frustrated and said “Fine! We’ll just propose at the same time so it’s fair! On the count of three!” And then we did, and I was like “Wait, what just happened? Did we just get enganged?” And then my grilfriend (now fiancee) said she was changing our facebook status to enganged before I could change my mind, lol. Becasuse as we all now, Facebook is legally binding.

I should point out that this is also the woman I was apparently “dating” before I was even aware of it. Everyone else apparently knew we were dating, except me (because I’m super oblivious when people are into me), I thought we were just hanging out and super close, but that she was way out of my league.

So yes, we’re very silly. Not very romantic, but it works for us. ๐Ÿ˜‰ And she’s my best friend in the whole world and we love just being around each other.

Though I’m freaking out a little because for the longest time I swore I’d never get married or have an exclusive, serious relationship ever, and then this somehow happened.
