@mayday26: HA! I feel the exact same way. People told me, oh you’ll miss the planning. And I said oh no no no I won’t. And even now, I’ve got a month left (UM HOLY CRAP) and we’ve hit a slow point. All thats left are the guys to get their pants and shoes, and our guest book stuff. I kind of do miss it.

We got a puppy too!!
I LOOOOOVE life post wedding planning. It was great cause for us, we finished up our masters in May, then got married in July, and after that, such a huge weight was lifted off our shoulders.

i feel the same way, but we’ve established no babies right away if we can help it. my future father-in-law just had another son and so it’s already gonna be odd for us to have a kid once my fiance’s half brother is 5 (just guessing an age) let alone when he’s one.
I’m probably going to go back to school bc i’ve been planning to but between buying a house and paying for a wedding i haven’t had the money but i’m hoping some of the money we get from the wedding can go towards paying for school. but if that doesn’t happen i dont have a clue what i’d do with the time.

i have hit a slow point in planning now too- nothing can really be done til the week of the wedding, and i *kind of* miss it too. i know i will be glad all the stress is over with, but i’ve become a woman possessed by linens and dresses and napkins and favors….. i think i’m just so antsy and want it to be here now!!!

No babies here yet, but we are enjoying our post wedding life! Things have slowed way down, and we’re just busy being us and well, he’s waiting for my maternal instinct to kick in…

Wedding planning was a terrible timesuck for me. We have plenty of other, more interesting ways to spend our weekends, and I am positively thrilled to have my life back.

@mayday26: I totally understand what you are going through.
I agree with @ElbieKay.
We don’t want pets or kids yet – we are enjoying our new place and spending time as husband and wife, without having to plan anything or take care of anyone else. 🙂 It’s so nice and fun!

We both got promoted at work after the wedding to much busier jobs. We definitely could not have planned a wedding with our current jobs!
Since the wedding, I started to get more into cooking and baking. Pre-wedding, it was all egg whites, cottage cheese, and spinach, but now that we don’t have a huge event to be skinny for, and especially since we got so much cool kitchen stuff as wedding gifts, I’ve been having a lot of fun expanding my cooking repertoire.
I also have developed a somewhat unhealthy addiction to Pinterest and Mariokart since the wedding. Hubby and I are pretty competitive in Mariokart!

I’ve been waiting until marriage to ahem…do the deed so I know what will occupy my time once I don’t have to do any wedding planning ;D

I really embraced and enjoyed the mundane life of nonplanning 🙂 Immediately following the wedding I seperated myself from weddings as much as I could – stopped looking at blogs, etc (I used to be on weddingbee but I cut myself off :)). Since we had spent so much time budgeting and saving for the wedding I felt like we had a good handle on life! Then we both got promotions, DH opened his business and suddenly all the time I spent on planning could be used for fun extras! We went to the beach more, traveled more, etc. It was like a new lease on life!! LOL. I had no idea how devoted I had become to my wedding!
