thirdtimeisthecharm:  Thank you! The stone looks washed out here but it’s a really pretty sage color in person. I’ve always loved yours as well!

Sporty-Bee:  I just love the rich pink color of that stone! What an awesome ring.

Sporty-Bee:  Wow! You are well versed in gemstones. How did you learn all of this. Did you just do research, have some sort of education on it, know others in the field who have guided you? It’s remarkable your knowledge… And your ring! It’s one of a kind. The pink color is perfect. I’m sure you get many compliments on it.

I did did see a special on rubies that are sold in jewelry stores, and how they are very low quality and sold at such a high price, being passed off as “real.” Some Jewlers knew this, others had no idea. I get why they do it, cost, but to put false information out and deceive a customer… Just bad practice. Some people would’t mind a lower costing gemstone ring, but it should be known to everyone. Allow people to choose their quality and price point like we would a diamond.

And yes mine is a ruby. Hard to tell by the lighting/flash on the iPhone camera (Not to mention is very small). At first I thought it was maybe a garnet because its slightly darker, but had it looked at again and appraised recently (along with other jewelry that was handed down to me from my great-grandparents).

Here is my beautiful engagement ring with sapphires. Sapphire is my birthstone and this is exactly what I wanted! My aunt is so jealous because when she got married she wanted a pearl, but it was outrageous to have anything but diamond back then.

Here is my sapphire wedding ring. Sapphires are my very favourite stone and I have always wanted one in my wedding set since Princess Di. I’m sorry for the awful picture, I still have no idea how to upload or resize with the new site. I have high hopes someday I’ll learn!
