If you really want the lighter shades and uniformity I would suggest asking them to rent the suits not buy. Buying is too expensive.

But if you don’t care, and you actually love the mistmatched bridal party look then I would tell them to just bring there dark different shades of gray suits! It will save them money.

I don’t really have any advice but if you do decide to have them get new suits I would definitely look into JC Penney. Our groomsmen bought gray suits from there for less than $150 which is much cheaper than any rentals we found. Here’s a picture of my husband’s suit:

Also, I think if you like the mismatched look then just go for it. A mix of light and dark could be nice if you like that kind of look!

There is no worng choice.  If they already have charcoal suits and you can work with that, great. If you can find a suit for close to the cost of the BM’s dress, that is fair too. Either way, the groom will stand out.

Several bees have had custom suits made by http://www.studiosuits.com . Do a search here on the Bee for reviews.

Last year JC Penney had grey suits – their Stafford line- at a very reasonable price- something like $150? for the suit. They don’t offer grey now but likely will again in the spring.

I also forgot to mention that none of the groomsmen wore the vest, just my husband! The gues wore the pants, jackets, white shirts, and green ties.
