I second Montana sapphires. I have a pair of stud earrings that are Montanas and they’re the most perfect ocean blue-green.

My sapphire is a light blue. I don’t know the origin but it has been sent to the lab and is a natural sapphire. I love the color, reminds me of the ocean.

I’m not sure if this is the color you’re talking about or not, but I’ll share just in case. My husband got mine from a local jeweler after I had met with him and showed him which shade I liked the best. Sorry I don’t have much more info for you than that.

If you like lighter colored sapphires, I second the recommendation to check out Montana sapphires. Two good vendors include Gemfix (https://gemfix.com/gem-category/sapphire/sapphire-montana) and Earth’s Treasury (http://www.earthstreasury.com/product-category/gemstones/sapphire-gemstones/montanasapphire/).

I also like less saturated sapphires and I loove my Montana sapphire ring. It has a bit of gray in it, and looks more denim blue in some lighting. In other lighting, it’s a pale blue, and on rainy days it’s a vibrant blue green. So on a related note, definitely buy your stone from somewhere that will let you return it, and make sure to check it out in a bunch of different lightings!

Some pics of my ring, linking to Imgur because weddingbee is being finicky and not letting me upload undecided

I also came here to reccomend Montana sapphires, they come in such a beautiful range of shades.
The designers I liked were:
S. Kind & Co.

If you are looking for a loose stone, try Pristine Gemstones. They look beautifully cut and I have heard great reviews.

Australian Parti sapphires are really beautiful too and come in a great variety of colours. They are typically quite saturated as far as I know, and often have several colour zones within the stone. I have seen some light blue/grey ones though. Might be worth looking into.

Good luck 🙂

Mine is a Ceylon Sapphire from 1920. Google Ceylon Sapphires. Many of them are this lighter colour.   Mine is a colour change Sapphire.  It’s looking lavender here but in other light it’s a beautiful blue.

Not really blue, but I think it’s oceanic…
