These natural hair-lightening formulas typically don’t work on colour-treated hair. Even on virgin hair the results are minimal, if anything.

reason #999 to go to a professional.

@nattiejeanne:  I haven’t heard of this but I’m interested! I also use coconut oil in my hair and looooove it. I’m also lol’ing at the people saying they dont’ use natural products in their hair….what??

@nattiejeanne:  Seems like honey and cinnamon can do everything nowadays – lighten hair, cure colds, prevent cancer, reverse ageing…LOL  I hope it works for you though.  If not, I’d suggest going to a salon and getting it professionally corrected to avoid any damage.  Looking forward to seeing your before and after pics.

Hmm I want to try it just because I imagine how good it’d smell! Can’t wait to see the pics!

Color-wise, it looks the same. There’s no “natural peroxide” in honey or cinnamon, so I’m not surprised you didn’t see any results.

@nattiejeanne:  lemon juice is a great, fast, natural hair lightener. In a real pinch, Dawn dish soap strips down hair color also, as well as product build up. In either case a moisturizing rich conditioner is needed afterwards.

Why not just go buy a bottle of hydrogen peroxide and speed this whole process along?  The chemical reaction is the same regardless of where it comes from- honey or a bottle from CVS.
