I’m using LED throwies. I’m going to make them myself and have them together and on when the lanterns are being hung the night before. They last for DAYS!

also, to be sure they stay bright (mine didn’t) you can create an on/off switch for your LED throwies. I saw a good tutorial for the switch on you tube.

@daniellerenee85: I googled them and they look so beautiful. However, can you tell me where to get them because I can’t find a good enough place via google and I’ve been stumped as to how to hang up my lanterns too. And in case one does forget to use the switch to make them stay bright, are there any other options for lighting a lantern?

Mrs. TiraMisu had some great info, and the comments on her post reads like a manual on how and where to get exactly what you ladies are looking for.

Also look here for a step by step (you wont need magnets though)

If you are going for lower cost try here for CR2032 batteries and search Ebay for “warm white diffused LED

And to answer the OP’s question- I’d make it clear to your venue that they need to be turned on by x-O’clock, and they should either make a ladder available and let someone come in (a good job for a helpful friend) or the might do it for you. Don’t be afraid to ask.
