(Closed) Lighting the candle favors before giving them to guests?

I wouldn’t.  It kinda seems like re-gifting something like lotion you’ve partially used, or a piece of clothing you’ve worn before.  I think it sounds really pretty to have all the candles lit, but let your guests take them home unused.

If you want to give candles as favors, buy extra ones the guests can take home and have them for them unlit and perhaps wrapped with ribbon or something like that.

You are basically trying to gift used party supplies, the way you describe.  There’s nothing wrong with telling people they are welcome to take them home afterwards, but don’t do it like it’s a wedding favor!

@oracle:I agree. I’d be fine with telling people that they can take them home but I wouldn’t give them as favors. If I was a guest I would think it was kind of weird for them to be favors after they were used already.
