Long-time lurker here. Our wedding was on November 1, and I just so happened to be O’ing on our honeymoon! I tested at 10dpo (monday) and got a clear BFP on wondfo (which was faint but there), FRER and digital (which said 1-2wks). It being our first cycle trying at ALL, I was NOT expecting a BFP! I was really nervous about it but also getting excited. That night, I started having some light cramps and a tiny bit of brown spotting, but I tried not to think too much of it because I know that is somewhat common. However, yesterday morning I tested again (same time, same box of FRER’s) and the line was noticibly lighter. Spotting was also still happening.
I work at a women’s health facility, and on my break I popped over to the NP’s office to get her opinion. She gave me another UPT which had just a shadow of a second line (almost a squinter). She said that she wouldn’t call it a negative test but that based on what I was describing, I could be experiencing a CP. She told me to watch for symptoms of ectopic and come back Thursday for another UPT.
I’ve been bummed but somewhat resigned to the fact that this isn’t our month. I’m still having noticible but faint positive on FRER (I tested again this morning with FMU, just like the last two mornings) and a positive 1-2wks on digi. It’s like a cruel joke. Anyway – I’m going to see my GP tomorrow for a blood test which will hopefully give me a more definitive answer as to what’s going on. In the meantime, my cramping has increased and I’m still having dark brown spotting, which seems to be increasing a little and getting more red (less old blood, I guess).
I don’t know what I’m looking for in posting here – I guess just support. Some folks have told me not to give up hope (“I spotted/cramped through my whole pregnancy,” “It’s not over til AF comes,” etc) but I’m trying to be realistic and prepare for “the worst.” According to FF my official AF day would be tomorrow. So we’ll see.
Any positive stories of conceiving healthy pregnancies after a chemical?

Hopefully you will get the answers you are looking for from your GP. If I were in your shoes, I would request the GP check to see that my HCG levels were doubling every 48 hours. If so, it would certainly help put my mind at ease.
My thoughts are with you and my 34-week-pregnant-self is dumping buckets of baby dust all over your head 😉

I had a chemical this spring, the first cycle after our wedding. I had very faint positives on FRERs for a few days before AF was due, then AF showed up like one day late. It was so upsetting as we’d been trying for a long time and I’d gotten pregnant exactly a year prior only to miscarry at 8 weeks. But we kept trying after the chemical and lo and behold we got pregnant again the very next cycle! I’m now 27 weeks along and things are going great. I’m sorry you are going through this, it’s definitely sucky, but I hope you get your sticky BFP very soon!!

Thank you jny1179 and GonnaBeMrsB for the support! jny1179 it’s so encouraging to hear that you’re 27wks preg the cycle after a CP. That really makes me hopeful. Of course I go into “something must be wrong with me since this is happening” but I know that MC’s and CP’s are super common and don’t “mean” anything. It’s just hard not to spin negative!
Thanks so much for your encouragment and support.

If you want to hear success stories, you can cruise through the “Pregnancy After Miscarriage” board.
I wish i could reassure you, but I’ve had my own struggles with two losses both at 5.5 weeks. We are TTC now and in total it’s been 7 cycles including the two BFP>loss cycles.

Good-ish news. I had my blood drawn and my level is 86 at 14dpo, which doc says is actually right on target. Getting another draw on Monday to see if things are rising accordingly. I will be cautiously optimistic until then! Thanks for your support, bees!

MissJEM1984: its possible that you are testing too early.
I thought I had a CP and it turned out I had just tested too early. I missed my period, went to the doctor and had my blood drawn and I am pregnant. However, its still very early for me, and I found out I have a retroverted uterus and when I went for my U/S, they couldn’t find anything bc it was too early and my uterus is so tilted it makes it super hard to see anything.
I have my 2nd U/S Dec. 2, so I am hoping for better results.
