Anyone have any luck in finding a good alternative for lilacs for a late June wedding? My florist suggested Hyacinth or Stock – not my favorites. I came up with purple Veronicas but realized that they’re already in the inspiration bouquet. I also found Buddleia (butterfly bush) but can’t find if they’re in season. Here is the inspiration bouquet along with the Buddleia photo. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

There are many varieties of Butterfly Bush (buddleia
Your florist could shape hydrangeas to be more elongated
there are also hydrangeas with elongated spikes or panicles

@mseagles: I had the same issue, actually. I found the PERFECT silk lilac bouquet on Etsy, but when I asked the seller to create a custom listing for me I got the bad news that she no longer had access to these particular lilacs, as the company is always on back-order. Here’s a picture:
So, I’ve now re-thought the bouquets and I getting custom fabric bouquets which I also love. I’m not sure if you also wanted lilac touches around your wedding, but we are doing dried deep purple lilac petals around our centerpieces from the company flyboynaturals.com
Also, it’s worth looking into purple or deep purple hydrangeas, which are lovely.

@julies1949: thanks you so much for these! I really like the hydrangea and had no idea they could be cut to give a more elongated shape. That would be perfect
@KatNewby I had actually planned on doing rose petals around the ceremony site but now that I’ve seen these site I think I may do the lilac and peony combo. Some of them are fragrant too so that will be a nice touch. Thanks !
