I have fair skin and prefer darker colors because anything else tends to really wash me out.

@LGenz:  I think lavender is darker and lilac is more pastel.

@KatyElle:  Same.

Lighter colours tend to wash me out so I’d go with lavender on fair skin (:

I’d put the olive toned girl in lavender (Mila kunis and cate blanchett will support my decision)

My theme is lavender/lilac/pink πŸ™‚

Lavender and lilac are different hues, and can vary in tints, shades and tones. They can be both pastels, muted, or brights, depending on what you choose.

Here’s an example with color red:

Now, lavander is a cooler color, while lilac is a bit warmer. Cooler colors against fair skin bring out the warm (yellow) tones in complexion and generally tend to look more flattering.Warm colors (lilac in this case) would bring out pink and blue undertones in olive skin making it look less yellow.

Hope it helps,

Saida πŸ™‚

PS Im love with this color family πŸ™‚

@LGenz:

lol, sounds like my husband, “purple, right?”

 Lavender is a light to pale purple with a bluish hue and Lilac is a light to pale purple with a pinkish hue
