I have ALWAYS wanted a Lily of the Valley bouquet as they are my absolute favorite flower. With my September wedding they are too far out of season to make it even close to being within my price range. I had one florist quote me about $10 a stem!!! However, the price might be less for your April wedding since it is closer to their normal blooming time. Good luck and I hope it works out for you! I can just smell the beautiful aroma now…

I agree that it will probably take a lot of them to make a decent bouquet. Were you thinking of having them just for yourself or for your BMs as well? I think they look beautiful mixed with other flowers. I love the Sweet Peas. What about Peonies? that might be pretty too. Are you going for any color, or just white?

I’m not gonna lie.  Lily of the valley is EXPENSIVE.

The wholesale rate right now for these tiny flowers is $30 for 10 stems, and those 10 stems are MAYBE the size of my fist all combined.  (More expensive than garden roses!)  Suffice to say, I’m not surprised at all if a florist quotes you $10 a stem.  I honestly would pick another flowers… especially if this is something just for your maids.

They are very expensive, but maybe you could do other beautiful white flowers that are not as expensive and if you really want lily of the valley, you could maybe do the perimeter of the bouquet? Some other white flower ideas that you may want to think about: You could do an all babys breath bouquets, or alstroemeria, or freesia.

Lily of the Valley are fabulous, gorgeous, aromatic, and REALLY tiny and expensive.

This isn’t the best picture, but the striped part at the bottom is my hand in a gardening glove closed around 8-10 stems of them. (they grow wild in my backyard). The bouquet in the top pic probably has 40 stems, minimum.

Damn, you made me fall in love with your inspiration pictures and now I found out they’re ridiculously expensive? Ahhh, such is life when you’re wedding planning. They draw you in with pretty pictures and then drop the price on you like a sledgehammer.

I’ve been told very expensive. I love them too, they remind me of my parent’s house (they have flower bed full of them, by accident).

When i was a little girl i used to go the forest to pick them!

And they smell sooo nice! I always though that i would have a bouquet of them for my wedding, but i have a fall wedding, so that did not work out.

@littlecat:

Did anyone get these? If so, do you have pictures and know how many stems are in them?

Thank you
