I bought the Lilly’s and they were great when I first started they felt soothing when my nips were rough and needed some TLC lol. I have disposables too/now because I’m just afraid of my leaking milk dripping out of the Lilly’s because they don’t absorb at all. I know they claim to “collect” expressing milk but I havent tried that yet

I have never used the lilypadz.  But I will say that I bought 3 big boxes of regular nursing pads.  Used 2 pairs and the rest are still sitting in my closet   I never needed any.

mckeestephanie:  I am the exact opposite of kes18:. I am 3 months pp and still need pads for day and night. I leak quite a bit and if the pads shift out of place at night my shirt will be soaked through down to my belly button. I have only tried disposabled, but make sure they have adequate sticky parts. I do not recommend Avent day time ones. They have one small square of stickiness and are a constant pain of moving out of place.

mckeestephanie:  Yeah, I just never really had leaks unless I was really engorged.  And I didn’t have engorgement problems when my milk came in.  I just fed baby 12x a day and we never really had an issue with oversupply/engorgement.  I only had leaks later on if I went too long between a feeding- like when my baby started sleeping longer stretches.  Even then, it wasn’t too much, I never soaked my whole shirt or anything.  Just some wet spots on the front.  But at that point my boobs would have woken me up so I’d have to pump some off.  Problem solved- my supply regulates pretty quickly.  I also don’t get those random letdowns other women sometimes get either (like by just hearing another baby cry or seeing a picture of your baby)- never had one that didn’t have a good trigger (feeding, pumping, or when I used heating pads for a clogged duct)

People with a lot of oversupply and constant engorgement probably have more leakage.  Hard to say what you’ll get.  I exclusively Boyfriend or Best Friend and pumped at work for 1 year (no supplementation) so don’t let it worry you if you happen to not have much leakage.

I also never felt a letdown until like 6mo pp…so that’s entirely normal too even though I always hear about women having painful letdowns.

I just meant, don’t go completely overboard like I did   I have 180 nursing pads sitting in my closet.  For some reason I guess I though I’d never leave the house for months after having my baby and needed to stock up on EVERYTHING lol.

I’m not sure about LilyPadz, but I loved my Bamboobies reusable/washable nursing pads. So much more comfortable and discreet than disposables.
