- Wedding: July 2011
So Fiance and I have gone back and forth about whether we should have a more formalized first dance and father/daughter dance. My cousin’s bf is a dj and has all the supplies and is actually asking if he could do it for us since his gf is my Maid/Matron of Honor. I told him to originally just play the music and we can make it somewhat informal. If people dance, they dance and if not, no worries. We have a very casual feel to our morning/noon wedding…
Luckily the restaurant has a patio connected to the reception room that we can use and no dance floor needed. In fact, they already have an ipod speaker system in place for us to use if we desire.
HOWEVER, the dance floor is very small. It’s maybe 8 feet by 8 feet and we have roughly 75 guests in attendance so it’s definitely not enough to fit everyone. We can spill over onto the rest of the patio though without a problem but the view will most likely be obstructed if we have it in the main area of the patio. I’m worried that people will feel too crowded during the first dance and father/daughter dance if we do have it.
What would you do?
If I have it, then there might not be enough space for everyone to see and it’ll be very crowded with everyone standing outside. They would have to leave the reception room to come outside.
If I don’t have it, I may regret it down the line but at least people are more comfortable and it fits with the casual feel of the wedding still. We can still do the dances but keep it unannounced and less pressure. (I’m pretty shy to have EVERYONE stare at me during this even though it is my wedding and people tell me I shouldn’t worry about it)
I keep going back and forth and we are only a few weeks away! Please help make the decision for me! Fiance said that I can make the call…
