alice88 :  See your doctor.  Generally the rule of thumb is they go off your most recent period, (first day) and give an estimate and then when you see them for the 8 week ultrasound they confirm if their original assessment is correct.  So technically if your period is 9/14, they would guess you are about 5 weeks.

alice88 :  Are you in the UK?

If so, you can self refer to the midwives and they will base your due date off the first day of your last period. They will send you an appointment for your booking in at around 8 weeks.

If you have any issues before then, you can go to your GP / A&E and be referred to the early pregnancy unit at your local hospital.

At the booking in, the midwife will take tons of details from you and some blood. She will then arrange your 12 week scan. They will update your EDD then based on how far along the pregnancy is. For me this usually moved the date by a day or two but not much. Due dates are a very inexact science so don’t worry if it moves a bit.

After the scan (assuming you’re low risk and first baby) you will have midwfie appointments at 16, 24, 28, 32, 34, 36, 38, 40 weeks and another scan at 20 weeks. Some hospitals also do a scan at 36 weeks (mine doesn’t)

alice88 :  Yes they look great! Lines on the cheapie sticks take longer to darken than FRERs. But yours look good!
