Ummmm, I guess around 15/16 weeks when I was pregnant with my daughter?  I got pregnant with DS before it fully faded from my first pregnancy, and it’s still pretty dark from him (at 5 months postpartum), so I’ve had a linea negra for like 2.5 years straight, at this point.  Sigh.

I’m almost 32 weeks and I have not gotten one yet.  So maybe I will miss it? But who knows, we shall see!

It might never show up, but it did unfortunately for me! Mine started to appear around 16 weeks.

I’m 30 weeks and I barely have one. It has been getting slightly darker the past week or so but is still pretty light. I have heard that it usually shows up on people with darker skin whereas those with lighter skin don’t get as dark of a line.

I love your posts, you are such a planner Smile, but make sure you relax and enjoy the pregnancy too .

@abbyful- Hope your LO makes an appearance soon!

I have one but its really really faint and I just noticed it the past few days – praying it doesnt get darker. i’m 20 weeks today 🙂

I had the “pregnancy mask” really bad when I was on birth control a few years ago and alwasy dreaded how bad it would be when I actually got pregnant but strangely enough it hasn’t shown up yet! keeping my fingers crossed on that one too.

I didn’t notice one with either pregnancy until AFTER I had the babies.  Then just a faint one that I think showed because my skin was less stretched.

@PrncssDva:  another term for it would be Melasma – Basically darkening/discoloration of the skin on your face! i honestly don’t know how common it is but my mom had it whens he was pregnant and I had it on BC so i only assumed i would have it when pregnant too but thank god it hasn’t shown up yet.

I had a couple dark spots on my cheeks that were pretty easy to cover with makeup but i had the most horrifying discoloration on my upper lip – i looked like i had a mustache! It was so embarrassing and make up never seemed to help. As soon as i stopped taking my BCP’s it went away though so i can only assume it was the added hormones that caused it.
