I am 4w2d with Baby No2. I got positives on three digitals, one digital being a day later and much darker than the first. I also had 20 wondfo tests sitting around so I’ve been testing on those too. My first one didnt evemn show up in the right time frame. Lately, theyve been showing up within 5 minutes, but I don’t thino today’s is noticeably darker than yesterday. Is that any reason for concern? I haven’t had any spotting. My period has fluctuated between 28 and 30 days. Even if it was going to be 30 days this month, I would already be a day overdue. Just a bit worried that the lines noy getting super dark may mean that my period will still arrive. I know you ladies can’t fix anything for me. Just needed to seek reassurance

Tests and strip tests in particular really aren’t a great way of gauging pregnancy progression. We all do it! But it’s really not a failsafe way to figure out if our hormone levels are doubling as they should be. It can work, but the only true way to know for sure is to have bloodwork done and then done again a day or so later to see how much increase there was. Try not to worry.

@BabyEtobe: I found that Wondfos were horrible for showing progression – it took several days for me to see a definite difference between lines. FRERs were much better at showing progression – grab a few of those if you’d like the comfort of some darker lines. I posted a pic of my Wondfos below – usually I had to compare lines 2-3 days apart to even see a tiny bit of difference. And once I got to a certain point (around 18dpo), they maxed out and just stopped getting darker altogether. Congrats and best wishes for a healthy and happy pregnancy! 🙂

Thanks ladies! I did take two FRER and the second one was noticeably darker. I think I’m just in disbelief that we actually got a BFP again so quickly.

Yeah the wondfos suck at showing progression. I’d already smacked the control line down on the FRER and the wondfos were STILL showing lightish lines. It took me until probably 5+ weeks in to get a line darker than the control line on a wondfo.

I’m glad you took the FRER. Seriously, those cheepies take forever!

@BabyEtobe: I didnt even get a positive that anybody else could see on a cheapie test until i was 6 weeks! You are pregnant and that is all that matters for now. Try not to worry too much and if you want to check your hcg levels are rising properly maybe ask your doctor for a blood test to put your mind at rest x
