I may or may not have creepily stalked your chart over the weekend and noticed your BFP – congratulations!

I think there are way too many variables involved for the darkness of a line on a HPT to be a valid or valuable marker of whether or not your pregnancy is progressing. Things like the dye-lot of various tests and well as urine concentration are too variable to provide any real accurate picture of your hCG levels.

I think the only way to be sure is to get your beta levels tested by your doctor. Having said that, you are also very early, so probably any line you see at this point will be quite faint. I think I got my BFP on 13DPO and the last time I tested was maybe 18DPO (I had to stop after that because I was driving myself crazy with anxiety) and while it had gotten a little darker by 18DPO, it wasn’t that significant.

Congratulations again and hoping for a sticky baby for you!

Congratulations on your BFP! Now stop testing! You are going to drive yourself crazy. If you got pregnant on multiple tests, then you are pregnant. B/c each test has a different dye lot, it might not get darker for you. My BFF’s OB yelled at her for continuously testing b/c it does nothing. The only thing that will tell you if the pregnancy is going in the right direction is a 48 hour double blood test.

So, give your doctor a call and ask if you can go for the blood test. That will be your indicator that you’re going in the right direction!

The bottom one looks darker to me? It’s today’s test right?

In any case, it’s still really early for the lines to be getting measurably darker I think. Take a deep breath, smile because you’re preggers and call your doctor for some blood work that can confirm your numbers are doubling properly.

Congratulations soon to be mama!!

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!!! I have no advise or experience with postive FRER but everytime I see a BFP from someone who tried a little longer I’m getting pretty excited ๐Ÿ™‚ Sending tons of sticky baby dust your way!

@Mrs. Kiwi:  Oh my gosh, congratulations! I have been reading your blog for a million years (well, since WB) so I feel like I know you and I am so so excited for you! I don’t have any advice as far as the testing goes, but I’m sending good thoughts to you and the baby kiwi!

@Mrs. Kiwi: I just wanted to say congratulations! I always so enjoyed reading your posts on the TTC boards. Seriously, I know I sound MEGA creapy, but I love your writing style.

As a PP said I think there are too many variables and the only way to put your mind at ease is a blood draw. Best of luck, and congratualtions again!

@Mrs. Kiwi:  That sucks, but I understand their point. My doctor thinks I am neurotic freak all most of the time, and I am not even pregnant… I supposed the interminable waiting of TTC doesn’t end with the BFP, huh!

However, I hope you can put some of the worry aside and get to celebrating with your Darling Husband ๐Ÿ™‚

I have my fingers crossed that it is all ok for you!
