I don’t feel weird looking at stuff in front of women in my family, but it will be arkward looking at it infornt of my FH’s family.

I think that shopping for that stuff with my Future Mother-In-Law would be mildly awkward, although we’re both open-minded individuals.  I feel even more awkward about shopping for lingerie with my DAD!  Just kind of seems like it would scream “Hey dad, guess what?  Your little girl is banging some dude!”  I mean, my parents aren’t prudes, it just seems a little icky… like I’m putting my sex life right in my dad’s face or something.  🙂

Otherwise, mom, friends, sis, whoever else, I love it too and it doesn’t make me uncomfortable!  I think it’s pretty sad that some women elect to miss out on female bonding experiences like this!  Shopping for lingerie is fun, and you’re right — an upcoming wedding is an awesome excuse.  My sis/MOH is including a lingerie shower in my bachelorette weekend, and I can’t freakin’ wait!

@BostonBaby:  That’s true, and a great way to look at it.  But when it comes down to it, I think most people’s minds go straight to the dirty when they see lingerie, and I’d just like to avoid anything in that general arena when it comes to daddy dearest!  😉  And I love that your mom is having fun picking out pretty girly things for you, it’s SO sweet!

Just been on a crazy Aubade spree in Harvey Nics and Harrods – thank god for the sales! Have bough not one but four sets (!) one including suspenderbelt and G-String, the works. Can’t stop – lingery is the best thing ever to make you feel better about yourself.

I love lingerie too, and I don’t find it awkward to shop for with other women (though I probably would with FMIL) EXCEPT for the fact that I’m plus-sized, which for whatever insecure reason makes me not want to go with my size zero friends!
