@frugaldiybride:  You could always go to Victoria’s secret, but I prefer more “upscale” places such as nice department stores (Nordstrom, Saks, bloomingdales) however that is going to be more expensive.

Burlington coat factory is my favorite, they have a ton of stuff and it’s cheap but I feel like it’s super similar to what you’d get at frederick’s for 4x as much. I’ll only wear a piece a few times so I’d prefer quantitiy over quality personally. I can’t see shelling out hundreds for something lacy that’s inevitably going to get ripped.

I like bra shopping at Nordstrom, but then once you know your size and what you like Nordstrom Rack is a great alternative. They still have the quality brands but at a discount. Some of my favorites: On Gossamer, Hanky Panky, Natori. Have fun!

I would vote for Nordstrom too. Yes, they can be a little pricier than VS (depending on what you buy – e.g. La Perla). However, I just went there this weekend to get a fitting for my undergarments for my dress and my boudoir shoot and I couldn’t be happier with the selection and the service I received. The associate was very helpful and knowledgeable and even called in managers to make sure everything fit appropriately and well. She also offered suggestions to bring down the overall cost, rather than trying to sell me the top-of-the-line everything they had. I’m not plus-sized or anything, but I definitely am not in perfect, swimsuit-model shape, and I think the Nordstrom selection of products fit me so much better than the stuff at VS, especially bras. The associate spent probably 1.5 hours helping me pick everything out and getting everything zipped/hooked/etc. and honestly, they look so much better than a lot of my cheaper existing lingerie. For a cute, affordable option, try Betsey Johnson. Her stuff in intimates is fun, sexy and hip.
