My lipstick just isn’t cutting it. I’ve bought many different ones. They claim smudge proof, long-lasting, no transfer… blah blah. Truth is, they just don’t last! I hate constantly reapplying or drinking coffee and having lipstick all over the mug. I need some recommendations from people who have had first hand experience with some magic listick to give me some long-lasting non-transferring lipstick recommendations! Help!

I love Marc Jacobs’ “Le Marc Lip Creme Lipstick” ($30) and Smashbox’s “Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick” ($25). Smashbox’s matte lipstick stays on a little better than the Marc Jacobs (non-matte), but it can make your lips look a little dry. Marc Jacobs stays on really well too, though.

I have heard good things about lipsense – but i don’t wear lipstick so haven’t used myself.

I have honestly had some really good experiences with some drugstore liquid lipsticks not sure if youi’ve tried them but L’oreal Infallible Liquid Lipsticks and Rimmel Provocalips have worked really well for me. I love the pigmentation of ABH liquid lipsticks but I feel like they are incredibly drying but if I use an oil or hydrating chapstick first then it feels much better. I’ve also heard great things about Colour pop matte lipsticks, supposedly they’ve changed their formula recently and they’re are pretty inexpensive. Good luck!

sephora cream lip stain. It is a liquid lipstick that goes on and stays put and comfortable for hours, and its only $14. I also love colourpop lippie stix and ultra satin lip– both will leave a mark on your coffee cup, but otherwise last a lot longer than normal lip sticks.

I only wear liquid mattes. Kat Von D, Too Faced, ColourPop, The Balm are all some favorites that make a liquid matte formula that lasts.
My lipstick usually lasts about 8 hours, sometimes more.

MrsSapphire : I usually just buy cheapo brands (Rimmel London, NYX) because I don’t wear lipstick often, but I find that it lasts well when I use a liner first. Sometimes I just use lip liner and gloss and skip the lipstick all together.

Ditto sephora cream lip stain and their new gel version (more of a stain than lipstick but pigmented and doesn’t budge).
Also stila all day and Kat Von D liquid mattes.
A lot of people like colour pop and the price is right. Unfortunately a lot of their colors look exactly the same on me and don’t last as long on me for some reason.

MrsNerdy : I second the Sephora liquid lipstick.

Liquid lipsticks stay on longer, simply because they are no creamy and don’t “slip around.” Your lips need to be in perfect condition when putting these on, otherwise it will look terrible. It also just dries out your lips naturally.

rimmel provacalips all the way!
Lipsense is OK too and vegan which is great (though rimmel is better on performance).
other longer wearing but not officially long wearing – bite amuse lipsticks and the balm – Matt Hughes

I don’t know if it’s available in the us.
Its a thing of genius. Keeps my bright lipsticks on all day.
I don’t know why it’s not more popular.
Apply lipstick, blot, apply lipstick, blot. Brush on lipcote. Wait 10 seconds for it to dry and you’re done.

annabananabee : colourpop all look exactly the same on me too, but I think it has something to do with undertones. I’ll buy like 5 new colourpops and when they come in surprise surprise, they all show up the exact same shade of brown. I’ve been trying to find my perfect mauvy-nude and always end up with brown. But I do love the formulas, and the bright colors are great if that is what you are into.
