Hiya! I’m not sure what a liquid lipstick is, is it like a mix between a lip gloss and lipstick? And I’m assuming that you’re after a glossier/shinier finish rather than a matte finish?

I don’t use lipstick super often but hopefully can help a little.

I would use a lip liner underneath whatever you use, it helps keep the lipstick from feathering and will help keep pigment even after eating and kisses, though you may still need to reapply.

You could try BareMinerals, I’ve haven’t tried, but want to try their Marvellous Moxie range. Picture of swatches below.

Other brands I’ve read good product reviews that don’t test on animals are Tarte Cosmetics, The Body Shop, Too Faced Cosmetics, Urban Decay, Youngblood, NYX Cosmetics, ELF Cosmetics.

NARS Cosmetics don’t test on animals, but some of their products do contain animal products: http://www.narscosmetics.com/USA/customer-care.html#animaltesting

Not sure what side of the fence you’re on with them as some sites consider them cruelty free, others don’t. They have a good selection of different lip products, i.e. cream finish, sheer, matte, semi-matte, lip glosses, gloss pencils, etc. I’ve always heard good reviews about their products. The one I’ve tried, their Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in “Damned” which is a vampy burgundy. The staying power was pretty good and even though it’s a matte lip product, I haven’t found it drying at all, which a lot of matte lip products are. If their matte products aren’t drying, then I can only imagine their other ones aren’t too.

Sorry I couldn’t provide much in terms of pictures. Hope it helps somewhat.

I don’t have a favorite yet, but I’m super intrigued by the Colourpop matte liquid lipsticks that come out at the end of the week! I know they are cruelty free and they’re only going to be $6, so they won’t break the bank (Sorry I just got done watching like 4 youtube videos about them. I love their lippie stix so I am pumppppped).

Hourglass Icon is my favourite blue toned red.  They also sell a little mini sized tube that lasts multiple uses.  Haven’t tried any of the other colours but they have pinks and nudes as well.  As far as I know Hourglass is cruelty free.

The Anastasia ones are hit and miss for me, I like the nude pink called Lovely and the very dark vampy shade called Sad Girl.

lilacjedibride:  Maybe one of the reds would work? I have my eye on Succulent and Creeper (and Midi, and Donut, and Solow, and all of them pretty much).

Either Stila liquid lipstick or Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick.

Stila Stay All Day!! That stuff doesn’t budge. Just make sure your lips are well-exfoliated, because it’s not particularly forgiving in that way. I’m super pale with Little Mermaid-esque bright red hair, and I love Beso (bright red) and Bellissima (pale nude/pink – I’m not sure if it qualifies as “dusty”). I’m not sure if they’re cruelty-free, though.

I love Laura Mercier Paint Washes, I have Rosewood. It stays until I eat, then I just reapply. Also a big fan of Revlon Colorburst Balm Stains. I have Honey and Berry, and they work even better than Laura Mercier for half the price! Not sure if either are cruelty-free though.
