I’m curious if there is a list of things that brides most commonly forget on the day of their wedding. Or even forget to plan for their wedding?
So, is there a list? And brides, any advice on what NOT to forget on the day of? What did YOU forget, if anything?

Well, this is an article I found that is an Emergency Kit for the day of. I put one together for a friend’s wedding (I was MOH) and my Maid/Matron of Honor (same friend! ha) is doing one for us. I think that it was helpful for that aspect of your question.
Essentials – Emergency Kit for DAY OF
- Aspirin (or pain reliever of choice)
- Bottle of water
- Chalk (to cover up any last minute smudges or smears on your wedding dress)
- Clear nail polish (for stocking runs)
- Corsage pins
- Dental floss/toothpicks
- Eye drops
- Extra earring backs
- Extra panty hose
- Hair pins/ponytail holder
- Hand towelettes
- Hem tape
- Mini sewing kit
- Safety pins
- Scotch tape
- Sedatives (don’t ask!)
- Small folding scissors
- Smelling salts (while we don’t expect anyone to faint, it has been known to happen)
- Spot remover
- Static-cling spray
- Straws (so the bride can stay hydrated without messing up her lipstick)
The matron or maid of honor should keep the following items on hand at all times in a small evening bag for the bride:
- Breath mints/spray
- Cellular phone
- Cash (because you never know)
- Hair spray
- Linen handkerchief
- Makeup (for touch-ups)
- Nail file
- Tampons/sanitary napkins
- Granola bars or other easy-to-carry snacks
- Krazy Glue (for nail fixes, shoe heels, decorations, even jewels)
- LARGE Umbrella

@lefeymw: and @njm1313: Isn’t it the greatest list ever? haha. I about died when I saw it and immediately saved it.
As far as planning things that have been forgotten…not gonna lie, I have a checklist for that too, so I don’t think I’ll be forgetting anything. Nor have I heard of anyone else, though I’m sure it happens!

my one suggestion is because i lived it with my friend – if you have a corset dress CHECK CHECK CHECK that the ribbon/string thingy to tie the corset is in the dress bag
we were dressing the bride on the day of her wedding and discovered it was left at the store and the store was closed! i was shocked by how calm the bride was but talk about last minute panic!

@njm1313: remember the damn marriage certificate!!
When i worked witha bride she just though the pastor provided it..um no (atleast not in Canada)
And another couple thgouht that and had to fake sign a paper at their wedding!!

@Baileyh: That’s hysterical … thank goodness for us, we just got ours this morning. lol (right before Fiance went on his weekend bachelor party). lol Felt like irony to me!
And the string … I have a corset, that puppy BETTER be in the bag! lol I may not hold my cool as well as your bride! lol

@eloping – oh my! I am curious as to how you all solved that problem?
@Randi Aud: mum pulled out a very long white unused shoe string while brother raced to Spotlight (fabric store) to buy white ribbon. there were 4 of us standing outside her room whispering about who gets to tell the bride that the ribbon thingy was missing, she was so calm it was scary

@eloping – yikes! I wouldn’t have wanted to be the one to break that news. But glad it all worked out!
I have a corset dress, so thanks for the heads-up. I will definitely be double checking for the tie 🙂
