This website allows you to personalise classic (or steamy 😉 ) novels with names of your choice in place of the names of the main characters.
How cool would they be for gifts on a table with a whole family in the novel? Or if you put you and your FI in Pride and Prejudice?
I know this sounds like an ad, but I just hear about it (about 5 minutes ago) and my first thought was: “The Bees need to know!!!”
Also, I wasn’t really sure where to put this. :

Whoa. I just perused the site. To be totally honest, that really weirds me out. I can kind of imagine it with Harlequin romance novels but not the classics. It just seems sacrilegious. I know that’s just my hang up, though, and if other people like it then more power to them.

Mills and Boon, etc maybe, but not Pride and Prejudice, etc
But thanks for sharing, I am sure quite a few people would be interested 🙂

I love these books! FI and I have several of the personalized romance novels 🙂
ETA: We’ll probably stick to the romance novels. Personalized Oliver Twist just seems a tad bizarre!

@HisMoon: @Jacqui90: Huh, I never thought of it as too weird. Especially when I imagine putting people into Alice in Wonderland as a joke. Or putting other characters into different stories. More than likely I wouldn’t actually read the book the whole way through, but it would be funny to flick through. Or to have a page framed that ends up being really silly.

@Everdeen: I like the idea of personalised books definitely! But I prefer a new book altogether. There used to be a publishing place here that allowed people to have books written for them, based on information given, and could have the dedication at the front too. My parents got one made for me when I was little, loved books and learning to read. It was about me going to Letterland and meeting all the letters of the alphabet. My younger sister got one a few years later about her rescuing Aladdin. My cousin got one about her going under the sea and meeting the merpeople. We each still have ours, and I can’t wait to show my kids! So I do like the idea of personalised books 🙂
