Hi! I am trying to figure out a bridesmaid dress designer who makes different style dresses in the same fabrics. I’m hoping to let my girls each pick out a little black dress in a style that they wil wear again. Unfortunately, most of the dress designers I have found still look like dresses that they will never wear again! I was thinking J Crew or something like that. Has anyone done this? What are designers that you have liked? What did you do when the dresses were cataloge only, so the girls can’t go try them on? Any ideas would be very appreciated!

J.Crew would be good–they seem to have sales quite often, too. You could try Nordstrom, or go the slightly DIY route with cocomyles.com–you pick the fabric, top style, bottom style, color, and any embellishments.

My girls are in love with their Victoria’s Secret convertible dresses.

J. Crew is great as well as Watters. I found several Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses their that I would wear regularly.

J.Crew was the style my BM’s picked. Be careful of the sales though – because (1) you can’t return things and (2) what you want may sell out quickly and you could end up trying to convince your friend that the saleslady said a 10 petite is the same as a regular size 8 so it will all be ok I swear.
