BIG problem. My FH wants to get married in dec 2013 and i wanted to wait a couple more months. Well he won, but now how do we plan a wedding reception of no more than 65 people for less than $2500!! Not worried about the ceremony..only the reception. Willing to diy EVERYTHING. Just wanted to know if anyone had any thoughts or ideas.

Check local parks or historic houses. Do a brunch reception on a Sunday.

The empire club in little ferry is extremely reasonable. Also I would check San Carlo in Lyndhurst.

@MrsWashington2013: We had our reception at The Princeton Elks in Skillman. Look at the website before the name scares you off! It’s beautiful!

we have come to the conclusion that it would be easier for the family to make the food, that way we get what we really like. So looking for a hall, rec center oe somewhere that would allow us to do our own catering!
Good News: Found one space thats promising and the owners are EXTREMELY nice. Under budget by $300!…still looking just in case
