We currently live closest to his family.  It’s okay.  I don’t love or hate it.  It’s just nice to have some sort of family around.

We live about 5 hours from my family and several states from his family.

I am really close with my family, so it makes me sad to be that far from them, but we have made the best of it and are enjoying our newlywed time. It’s actually pretty fun being far away from everyone and creating our own memories. ๐Ÿ™‚

Didn’t really plan on living close to both families.  We kind of just already did. Technically we’re a little closer to my family.  He has no desire to spend a lot of time with his family.  That’s fine with me.  My family is more fun!

Closer to his family. My family is in California, his family is in Pennsylvania, and we live in his home city of Vienna, Austria. It doesn’t bother me although I do miss my parents and sister a bit.

Currently, we don’t live close to either of our families, but should something happen to FI’s dad, his mom will be moving in with us for health reasons.  I’m not looking foward to it at all, but Fiance has been straighfoward to me from the beginning, and I admire the fact that he is prepared to take care of his mom.

For 7 months a year, we live within 15 minutes of most of his family (6 grown siblings, their partners and teenage children).

Then for 5 months a year (we move across the country for work), we’re 30 minutes from where my parents live. We love it – it keeps things fresh.

We pretty much live smack dab between them both. My parents are about 25 minutes north and his are 20 minutes west. We’re far enough away to where neither side is compelled to do a drop in but close enough to where it’s not inconveinant to have to visit them.

We chose to live equal distance (about 40 minutes) away from our families. His family is in one direction, and mine is in another. It’s far enough away to give us space to grow as our own family, but close enough to see them frequently.

We’re living far apart from all right now, but we’re planning on moving to be close to my family in the next couple years. We would be happy to be close to any though!

We live about an hour from his family, and about 20 hours (driving) from my family.
That’s only because I moved away from home and then I met him.  I really like his family (most of the time), so it’s ok, but I really wish I had more time with my family, especially around the holidays.  For the last three years I’ve spent all but one thanksgiving and Christmas with his family.  My parents are hoping to retire in a few years and move closer to me for at least half of the year, and I can’t wait!

We live about a half hour from his family, and mine is spread out all over the country with my Mom and Step-Dad living the closest at a 15 hour drive.

We’re going to be living away from both our families. My family in Ontario, he’s from NJ and we’ll be living in SoCal, where the military stationed him. We want to stay in that area after he gets out though. We don’t get along well with his family, but we do mine so it’s bitter sweet. It’s nice not to have his family bringing us their crazy, but I miss my family and I think he does too.
