LOL goodie!!

And to answer your question, I can be VERY cheap.  I specifically requested no ring because of the cost, but Fiance didn’t like that after a while, so I picked out a CZ.  $60 and I love it!!

That’s awesome! I’m just like you when it comes to shopping! I’d love to see pics, as well.

Yes! I don’t want my e-ring to be anything above $250, like, MAX! I mean, if it’s pretty, it fits and I LOVE it why should we spend several months rent on something so tiny? I might even go with silver and have a custom made gemstone e-ring for under $100. Seriously.

Same!

My Fiance kept pushing me to pick out the fancier wedding bands and I just looked at him like he was nuts.

Apparently, it has something to do with him wanting to prove his affections and ability to provide by buying me a fancy engagement ring and wedding band. I thought this sounds super archaic, but I think the media puts a lot of pressure on men to really prove their worth by buying their partners fancy things.

Good for you! Thats amazing! I agree, while I also have a ring that costed my Fiance a gazillion dollars, we were very careful to get the absolute best deal possible on it. I cant wait to get it appraised and see how much we really saved!

Related to that, I feel the same way about the whole wedding industry! I am so excited for my big beautiful wedding, dont get me wrong. . but I really think spending $25,000 on a wedding is freaking nuts! And its SO easy to do! Fiance and I do not yet own a home, and we are still working on purchasing nice vehicles – yet we have this huge expense to pay for a party!Ahh . .okay vent is done.

@2strapscool:  Nope! I’ll keep the occasional coupon but I mostly just shop around and try to find ways around spending too much for things. Like I needed a sleeve for my laptop but they cost $20-$30 at BestBuy and the ones at Dollarama are too small, so I bought 2 at Dollarama ($4) and Frankensteined them into a bigger one!

If my guy wants to spend $2k on me fine, but not for a ring, spend $100-$200 on the ring and send me to the spa or something every week! lol, I have no problem if he has the money and wants to spend it on me, it sounds kind of nice actually, I’d just rather get more pleasure and less guilt out of it than getting something I would never want/wear under any other circumstances.
