If you prefer to have a period, I would talk to your doctor about switching. I was on Yaz as well and it gave me terrible chest pains and headaches. My doctor switched me to Loestrin24fe, similar to what your taking. It has 4 sugar pills. When my period comes (usually when I take the 2nd sugar pill) the period is very light and last for maybe 2/3 days. But everyone is different. Good luck!

@LizzieMo: Yup, its low dose. I couldnt handle the effects of Yaz and a strong dose, so he switched to something “Mellow” :p

I’m on Loestrin24fe…it is a low-hormone BCP.  I’m still kind of irregular (but I also forget to take it sometimes because I’m on it primarily for cysts, not BC, so I’m less neurotic) but I do get a period (albeit extremely light) every month.  My doctor put me on this one because I was very concerned about the hormones and side effects.  I don’t experience any side effects… however, my Future Sister-In-Law is on it as well (for irregularity issues) and she has experiences nausea and vomiting at times.

I’m on Loestrin 24, which is the same drug, just a different dosage.  I didn’t get any period my first month, and since then it has been super light (just 1-2 days) when I do get it.  I know the no-period-thing is appealing for most women, but it drives me crazy not knowing for sure that I’m not pregnant, so I usually end up taking tests on months when I don’t get it. That’s kind of a waste of money, so I’m thinking of asking my dr if I can change to something with more periods.
