What is a lob cut!?!?

I have a lob, not a long lob though, more of a shortish lob. The front pieces of my hair don’t reach my collarbone or chest. It’s a breeze to style, I like it because I look polished in a shorter amount of time than I did with long hair. And it’s still long enough that I can wear it straight or wavy or up while I’m at the gym. So it’s versatile. Maintenance is easy as well, provided you are okay with needing a trim every 6-8 weeks.

No pictures because I just posted a detailed explanation of my tampon use and menstrual cycle on another thread and I don’t want my lob associated with that. 🙃

leekissesme:  a long bob lol.

I have a lob, but I find it high maintenance (though I love it more than keeping it long), because the length makes the ends of my hair curl so easily so I have to use a curling iron every day.

I have a lob, and I love it! It just takes 10 minutes with the blow dryer to style it.

I didn’t know this was a thing… it’s just what my hair is and pretty much has been for the past ten years.  Inch or so shorter, grow it to that length, chop it off again.  Something new every day.

I cut my hair like this last year, but now it seems like all of my friends have it. So now I am growning mine out. 🙂

i second that i’m not quite sure what a lob is.  when i google, it says long bob.

i think it really depends on the technique of the hairstylist.  mine cuts my hair amazingly.  even when it grows out, it still keeps it shape.  i get haircuts every 4ish months.

I had one last year, and the year before. The year before, it was longer… last year it was shorter. It took me FOREVER to grow the back to a decent length to trim after the ends in the front got bad and I needed a cut. So then I had to cut my hair shorter just to even everything out, and even then… my stylist still gave me a slight one so it didn’t look so short.

Plus, my hair type doesn’t allow for my hair to get all cute like some of those pics I’d find. My hair never fell the perfect “lob” way, so it looked like a basic cut.

It was cute, and fun… just wasn’t what my hair needed.

I’ve been waiting 2 years to chop my hair! I’m getting married in May and will be cutting it into a lob the weekend after! lol

Here’s the evolution of my lob. I think I liked it best in the middle picture. I just chopped it into a bob right at my chin and miss my hair haha. But I thought it was a pretty easy style. I could air dry it and it still looked decent, though a touch wavy. It’s a good haircut for fine hair, which I have.

I had a short bob that had grown out with really damaged ends from being colored, and I also really want to grow my hair out, but wanted to get rid of the damaged ends before my wedding (coming up in May) so I opted for along bob.

Love it. It is more high maintance (like shorter hair) if you’re like me and opt not to blow dry your hair. I found sleeping on my hair I’d wake up with it funny and bent out looking, so I found that molding my hair or brushing it from the outside in while its air drying helps maintain it’s ‘shape’

mrsmossyoak:  I have a lob and I think it’s actually easier than most other haircuts. my hair is slightly wavy so this cut suits it perfecly. most days I can just wash-and-go. I used to have a bob that looked pretty bad if I didn’t style it, so the lob is super easy.

mine is not layered, but it’s not exactly blunt either, so I can actually get away with several months between each trim.
