Oh my gosh, the local Alfred Angelo near me is painfully awful. When I went to get fitted for my bridesmaid’s dress for a friend’s wedding, they scheduled about 12 other brides at my appointment time and left me standing in the lobby. Finally, one of the consultants saw me and yelled to another one, “Can someone just go deal with her already? She’s just here for a maid.” and made the brush-off motion with her hand. Recently, they called to see if it came in. I had to call for two days to get someone to answer the phone, and when they finally did answer today, they couldn’t find my dress because they spelled my name wrong in their system. After they pulled it up, I asked to make an appointment to come in for alterations, and they couldn’t find ONE TIME between now and the wedding at the end of May for me to come in at/after 5:00 or on a weekend to get fitted, so I have to take it somewhere else. I went to pick it up today, and again, stood in the lobby for half an hour, then they couldn’t find it. Finally they found it, and then asked if I wanted to try it on. I asked if it even mattered, because if it doesn’t fit, can I do anything about it? Her response was “You can come in and get it altered.” in which case, I nearly threw it at her. Terrible experience, and I’m more than thankful that I got my own wedding dress and my bridesmaids’ dresses somewhere else. I just needed to vent… Feel free to share your vents!!!

Aww, that sucks! The lady that sells Alfred Angelo in my area is an angel, but I definitely got yelled at for arriving five minutes early for an appointment at David’s Bridal :/. I don’t understand why bridal shops think it’s okay to be crappy to customers, it’s not like you’re going to recommend them to your friends after that behavior!

I can’t believe they acted like that! I would call and ask to speak with a manager. That’s ridiculous! I got my wedding dress from AA and plan on getting my Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses from there too. The one close to me just opened a few months ago and the consultants are amazing. If you don’t mind me asking, what Maryland location did you go to? My Maid/Matron of Honor is in Parkville, MD and I believe the one closest to her is in Glen Burnie (I don’t know how many AA locations they have in MD). If it’s the same one I’m gonna tell her just to get it from mine when she comes to visit.

@kelcheer412: It was totally the Glen Burnie one!! I haven’t been to Parkville…maybe I need to go that way next time haha!
@jo.lee: I don’t understand it, either! It’s such a special time and such a big deal…you would think that they would be super sensitive, you know??

@FutureMrsBPB: I just looked on the AA website and I think the only location is in Glen Burnie. I will tell her to get it from here. Haha thanks for venting otherwise she would have been pissed at the service!

I’ve been to the Glen Burnie and Springfield, VA AA locations. I ended buying my dress from Springfield *yay*. I had mixed experiences with Glen Burnie, my first visit was great (during the week and not busy at all), but on my second visit my consultant keep steering me towards “big girl” dresses after I told her I wanted a fit & flare/trumpet/mermaid/modified A-line, etc. What really turned me off was when I asked to try on 2083 (the dress I eventually purchased) and they only had it in a sz 12 sample, but THAT isn’t my complaint. They failed to tell me that the Springfield location did have the dress in a plus-sized sample when I asked if another store in the area had it.
I’m not sure if it was intentional, but I am glad I called the store in VA because I couldn’t get the dress off of my mind!
I suggest trying the Springfield location…it was worth the drive from Greenbelt for me!! Good luck!!

I had a tough time at the AA by me. I seriously think they need to do some more management control. I love my dress, I love my Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses… I hate the way the company works. I even got a damaged slip from them, they damged it even more when I came it to exchange it, and refused to give me a new one! I had to go to the regional managers and even they refused to do it! I had to go really high up beore somebody “just wanted to be done with this” and let me have a new one… ugh… Sorry about your experience. I wish some other company had my dress so that I could have bought it there.

I had a great experience at AA. Have you tried calling the company to complain?

Seriously you should post that on the Alfred Angelo facebook wall.
