Hi Ladies! My husband & I are having a re-commitment ceremony in July. I’m going as natural & budgeted as possible & I was wondering if anyone had considered, or ever heard of anyone, using a local lavender farmer for their wedding? I’m obsessed with the idea of using lavender mixed with babies breath for my flowers. I have my first consultation appointment with a florist tomorrow. If I feel like I can tackle this with the local farmer and wholesalers, I’m all for it! But it makes me nervous thinking of totally scrubbing the florist…
I know it’s not unheard-of, but had anyone else ever done without the florist?

@afrswife0117: I think you should go for the lavender! We got lots of potted lavender for our engagement party last summer and the smell was wonderful! I’ll also do my own flowers for the wedding, but then using cut flowers from my grandmothers garden + material from the forest. I really don’t like the idea of paying lots of money for something that will just wilt the next day.

Fresh lavender will be lovely.

Lavender is awesome. Our flower girl is scattering that instead of petals.

i agree!! met with the lavender farmer & that’s definitely the route we’re going. met with the florist as well. i think we are going to use her, but just to help arrange the bouquets & help me make sure everything that day is like i want. doing everything myself, it’s nice to have one thing i don’t have to worry about!!

I am thinking lavender and babies breath too! Maybe some sage and eucalyptus. They are all meaningful and symbolic for us. So amazing that you found a farm to work with. I am inspired to do the same! Please post pics 🙂
