This happens all the time in Florida…

Although pet stores are bad, I doubt the thieves will treat the puppies any better.  People usually don’t steal them because they want a puppy, but rather they see how expensive they are and then sell them on craigslist or something.  It’s not good for anyone 🙁

I’ve heard of this happening a lot here.  I always hope that its just someone who wants to rescue the puppies, and not someone who is trying to make a profit.  I tend to believe its the former.  I have to be honest… me and my roommates in college did this before!  Its horrible and I can’t believe I’m confessing it over the internet.  We went to a shelter to adopt kittens.  We saw 2 that we loved, but they wouldn’t let us adopt them, they were sick so they wanted to euthanize them.  So, when they weren’t looking we stole them!  Ah, I felt so guilty.  But, they’re alive and well right now, 9 years later.  So, damn the man 🙂

Jennifer you stole them from a shelter, and I think that makes a huge difference.   I wouldn’t condone it, but the fact that the shelter was going to euthanize them, and that they are alive and well now, meant that it was for the best!

I hope you’re right about them giving the dog a good home.  Honestly, even them selling the dog wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.  When I saw the title of the post, the first thing that came to my mind was dog fighting 🙁

He’s super cute!  I really hope nothing bad has happened to him.  Unfortunatly (warning- something distrubing ahead) dog fighters sometimes use puppies or small dogs as “practice” to teach the real fighting dogs to be aggressive.

However a cute little thing like that, I think it’s more likely that someone who wanted him for themselves took him.  You could even hide him in a purse if you wanted…

I thought dog fighting too. Unfortunately they either use dogs as killing machines or “feed” the mean dogs smaller dogs and puppies to get their aggression up. It really is horrible and I hope all people that participate in dog fighting get ripped to shreds by a dog (yes it is cruel of me to think that way, but it just makes me so angry).

I HATE petstores that sell puppymill puppies.  They need to be stopped.  But stealing the puppies isn’t the answer.  Of course, this is me hoping that the person wanted to “save” the puppy.  Like others, “bait dog” did come to mind.  I really hope for the best for this little guy (or girl).
