@doxielove:  Hi! I have donated my hair to locks of love twice. It is really easy, just follow their instructions online.

I have done some very basic research about the organization, and there are some people who say that they will sell your hair and not use it in wigs. Whether or not that is true, at the end of the day, in my opinion, if you are cutting a significant amount of hair, you may as well donate it otherwise it gets thrown out.

I donate every two years, I can usually give around 12-14 inches. It works perfectly for me because it forces me to cut my hair (I HATE cutting my hair). And of course I like that I can do something for others. It’s kind of a win win. I don’t see any down side to it at all. Even if they throw it out or something, it’s not like there’s anything else I’d do with it anyway.

I do it as soon as my hair gets long enough.  Cut, donate, grow out again.  I’ve done it several times over the years.  It’s a wonderful and easy way to give back!

I did Locks of Love when I was younger. I sent about 15 inches in, I think. It was really easy, and I remember feeling so good when I got the postcard thanking me for my donation. I agree that it’s a great way to give back and really takes almost no effort on your end!
