Since we are paying an obscene amount of money on alcohol at the wedding based on a per person cost, Fiance and I want to make sure everyone who drinks is able to enjoy themselves and not have to worry about getting back to the hotel, who will be the Dirty Delete, etc. Also, we have a cute way to incorporate the shuttle bus :). But we’re not sure about how this works. Can we hire the bus just for the end of the night to bring people back to the hotel? Or would it make more sense to have transportation for the entire day, starting from the hotel to the ceremony, and so on? Or should we just forget this idea altogether? haha. Thanks in advance!

if you want guests to NOT drink and drive, I would provide transportation to and from the venue.
think about it – if they have to arrange transportation to the ceremony, then how likely are they going to leave their cars there overnight & take the shuttle home?

we are trying to figure out logistics for the same reason. so far, i think we have decided to provide shuttle service from the hotel only. we have about an hour and a half break between the ceremony and the reception. guests will be able to ride the bus from the hotels to the church and from the the church to the hotels. the bus will start running again from the hotels to the reception about 30 mins before the cocktail hour begins. we’re still working out the kinks, though!

We had a shuttle run for an hour before the wedding (hotel to reception) and then an hour after our reception ended. This worked out very well. We just called a couple of bus companies and they were able to do this for us with no problem.
