Ugh I get the surname woes, being Scottish everyone assumes I’m a “Mac” as my surname is McXxxxn it’s a big hoopla to spell. Good luck with the new name

Oh man, I know how you feel. My own last name right now is pretty short (5 characters) but his is 12!! I’m debating taking his last name as a third middle name (er,I have 2 middle names) and keeping my last name. Agh!

ellyd23 :  I was in the same situation. I had a Ukranian maiden name 10 letters long that had too many consonants and not enough vowels lol… I decided to change it to a second middle name, and now I have a nice short 5 letter long surname that people can actually pronounce. YAY! Haha.

Aww names are so hard.  I’m on the fence still, but FIs last name is super weird with my name.  I don’t want hyphens though – more trouble than they’re worth.

joeandmee :  i had TWO last names legally because of my parents with a space separating both. Still had to use both last names on legal documents. One was 9 letters and the other 6; so 15 letters in total. Mine was Latino backgrounds. My hubby’s last name is 9 letters. His is Jewish. I decided to change my name to his because it fet like a union of becoming one. I do miss one of my last names but thats ok 🙂

I’m Hellenic, so we normally have ridiculously long names…thank goodness my Fiance has a short surname, and I’m happy just to drop my maiden name. makes things super easy 🙂
