If it was a coworkers daughter, I’d ask her straight up… are we expected to pay for the meal?

That’s crazy! I would seriously call up the bride and ask what the heck she meant by that. I would go still I think, but maybe only give a gag gift… Is that rude?

It’s so sad.  The invites are already printed and out.  I wish this girl had come to us on the boards and asked if this was okay before she went ahead and sent these horrid rsvp cards out into the world.  Yikes!  I know we stay away from the tacky and the snarkiness here, but SERIOUSLY.  Really?  REALLY?  Really.

Poor Emily Post would have cried at this clear nightmare mistake!

I cannot imagine asking my guests to pay for their dinners.

But, it seems there are some brides who simply do not care about all the standard rules regarding guests.
