Doesn’t bother me any; they are adults and they can choose not to go (and most did). It’s a pretty well known school, not very easy to get into, so I would think the students would be mature enough to know if they couldn’t handle it (or didn’t want to). Sexuality is a big part of psychology, personally I see nothing wrong with this (though I do sort of find it odd that any school would allow a live demonstration).

Doesn’t bother me, either. It was optional, it’s not like he staged a porno in the middle of a class. Plus, these are college students, they’re adults.

I mean, from a teaching standpoint it probably wasn’t the smartest move, considering how conservative most Americans are…. He had to have known it was going to cause an outcry. It kind of confuses me that he’s like “Huh? People are mad?”

I heard about this the other day and after thinking about it, it doesn’t bother me.  The students were told that it was optional, they didn’t have to be there, and could have left at any time.  It’s college, they can pretty much do and teach what they want.

@GreenEyedMoon: the first link is, yes. Havent clicked the second

I dont see anything wrong with what he did. It shows you how prude Americans really are. It is a Human Sexuality class! In my Human Sexuality class we watched porn! I think people are gettting hyped up over nothing. He didnt hurt anyone and he didnt do anything illegal – whats the big deal?

Totally optional–no one forced the students to stay. I don’t think the teacher was in the wrong. It’s a class on sexuality, for god’s sake!

@Wonderwoman217: Good point, I wondered that too (and I agree I bet it wouldn’t have been blown up like this).
