I personally would post this to one of the more UK forums such as youandyourwedding, there are plenty of people from London on there that would be able to help. I’d say dependent on the venue you need to book as soon as possible, some venues will get booked up quicker than others.

Well I am getting married 40 mins from London but unfortunatley I don’t know London all that well, sorry. However, I would say def get booked up asap! I just wanted to comment on this post as I have never come across a bride eloping to England, I am so excited for you!! Can I ask why you chose London?

Yes, venues can get booked up very quickly (I would imagine in London even more so) and most advise to book around a year in advance, especially if you have a particular date in mind… also, I love that you’re having a destination wedding in London!

That’s so funny, as when I first got engaged, we were really set on eloping to New York! haha

I live in London but am getting married in Philadelphia. I don’t know a lot about venues, but they do weddings at Tower Bridge that look pretty amazing if you’re looking for a different type of venue at the center of London! http://www.towerbridge.org.uk/TBE/EN/VenueHire/Weddings.htm

I lived in London for many years, and now live not too far from London proper. You say that you’re artsy?

Well, why not try the Battersea Arts Centre? Their Grand Hall can be hired for weddings and it can seat up to 350 guests. I have no idea what the prices are, but here is the Web site: http://www.bac.org.uk/hires/events/wedding/

Just email them for an enquiry and have them post or email a brochure. BAC is in southwest London.

You should also look at Hoxton Hall, a Victorian theatre: http://www.hoxtonhall.co.uk/hire/events/weddings-ceremonies-parties/

For a wedding cake, may I recommend Patisserie Valerie at http://www.patisserie-valerie.co.uk/ in Soho? It’s one of the best bakeries/patisseries in London with 85 years of experience.
