Have any of you seen a bridal party where the bridemaids wore long chiffon material-type dresses and the groomsmen (and groom) wore jeans? Do you have any pictures?
I have searched Pinterest and Google but can’t find anything similar. I can always go with short dresses & know it will look fine, but I LOVE the look of the long dresses.
Thank you kindly for your help & input!

I haven’t seen any pictures but I think it will be fine if the dress material is light and airy like chiffon. I would also pick lighter or neutral colors dresses to keep with the more casual tone of the jeans.

Hmm yeah, that’s a tough combination to find on google! I think it sounds like it should be fine though!

@hisfuturemrs5314: Depending on the style, it might not look off. Here’re some photos (the last being the closest):

I think that’s a terrible idea. Looks completely mismatched -and I’m into mismatched wedding parties.

@hisfuturemrs5314: If the guys do end up in jeans, make sure that the jeans AND THE SHIRTS fit really, really well. I would go so far as to insist on made to measure, or even bespoke shirts. MTM is actually not that expensive; it can be done for as little as $120 some places – though I would probably go with something more in the $175-200 range. It will be a shirt that will serve them well for many years.
You can see in that picture with the black shirts that the shirts do not fit the guys properly at all, while the women are wearing fitted dresses, the guys look dumpy. If it’s going to be jackets, you need to make sure the jackets are waisted (i.e. fitted to the body, not boxy).
If you’re going to go with nonformal fabrics, but you want to look elegant, you have to make sure you do it immaculately, or it just looks like you didn’t care when you got dressed, or don’t know what you’re doing, rather than looking like you went for a purposefully dressed down look. Dressed down does NOT mean dressed badly.

@profiterole: lol that’s a classic photo.

I think long dresses would only work if they’re jersey material, like casual maxi-dresses.
